American Exceptionalism is an investment platform sponsored by Social Capital. Through American Exceptionalism, we raise capital from public-market investors and acquire, invest in, and build companies at the frontier of American industrial and technological capability.

Our first vehicle, American Exceptionalism Acquisition Corp A, raised $345 million from public investors for this purpose.

How it works

American Exceptionalism uses publicly listed acquisition vehicles to give investors direct exposure to frontier companies that would otherwise remain private. Unlike a traditional fund, American Exceptionalism identifies operating businesses, acquires it, and brings it to the public markets, giving investors a stake in the company and giving the company permanent capital to scale in the United States.

Why

For decades, the United States has led global technological development, but that leadership has been eroded by offshoring critical manufacturing and exporting technical know-how. Reversing this trajectory and maintaining our competitive edge requires a massive, coordinated effort to properly capitalize American companies at the absolute frontier of innovation.

Investing in America and ensuring we secure the pole position in emerging technologies is a paramount requirement for the survival of our way of life and democratic society. Our national freedom depends entirely on our industrial, economic, and technological self-reliance. This platform exists to deploy the capital and tools necessary to onshore critical capabilities, rebuild domestic expertise, and institutionalize vital infrastructure right here at home. That is why American Exceptionalism concentrates its capital in four pillars that the United States must lead if it is to remain the world’s leading superpower.

Where American Exceptionalism invests

Energy Production

American Exceptionalism invests in energy production across every vector, from coal, oil and natural gas to nuclear and solar. While liquid natural gas and fracking can provide the United States with energy independence and freedom in the near term, our energy needs are only growing deeper. We must make investments in all vectors of energy production—ranging from coal, oil and natural gas to more modern forms of energy production like nuclear and solar power. The United States needs unlimited energy and must bring the marginal cost of that energy production to zero.

Artificial Intelligence

American Exceptionalism invests in AI companies in both physical form (robotics) and software. AI will be a foundational element of global productivity and it will manifest in both physical form (robotics) and software. As generative AI and large language model (“LLM”) development continues to accelerate, we are confident that we are in the early innings of the biggest mega-trend in history. Similar to how the internet unlocked new industries within a decade, we believe that AI will create investment opportunities that will only be obvious in hindsight.

Decentralized Finance

American Exceptionalism invests in the decentralized finance and cryptocurrency companies rebuilding the financial system. Traditional finance is defined by the power of incumbency, with large banks and lenders serving a dominant role in our economy. However, decentralized finance and cryptocurrency is no longer simply on the sidelines. As these new companies scale, we believe they will revolutionize multiple financial products—including international payments, smart contracts and supply chain transparency.

Defense

American Exceptionalism invests in the next generation of defense technology: robotics, drones and AI for the warfighter. Warfare is moving away from humans on the front lines to robots, drones and AI that bring next-generation capabilities to warfare and warfighters. As the United States builds economic and technological supremacy through energy, AI and cryptocurrency, it must also continue to project military supremacy both domestically and abroad.
